KUHN Group, Expert Farmer, Boccard, and Phylum working together to support the dairy sector in the Philippines.

Teams from KUHN Group, Expert Farmer, Boccard and Phylum recently travelled to the Philippines to share their expertise in forage production and dairy farm construction!

On 16 June 2025, David THOUAULT (Kuhn) and Francis Forgeard Grignon (FGM) led a mission to the island of Bohol with the following objectives :

  • Carry out soil sampling for fields intended for forage crops and assess the quality of water provided for dairy cattle.
  • Study the site selected by the beneficiary for the construction of the farm
  • Propose suitable agricultural equipment for forage production and for feeding cattle, considering the topographical constraints of the land

On 30 June 2025, Anaïs REDISSI (Phylum) returned to the Philippines on a mission accompanied by Thibaut Viroux (Boccard) with the following objectives :

  • Study the chosen site for the dairy plant.
  • Validate the transformation processes to be implemented
  • Visit the Ubay pilot farm, which supplies milk to the factory, to ensure logistical proximity between production and processing.

The Philippines imports nearly 98% of the dairy products consumed in the country. The National Dairy Authority (NDA) wants to implement a development plan for the sector in target areas to make up part of this shortfall and provide a regular source of income for small producers, while encouraging larger, more efficient farms. This plan should provide milk of Philippine origin for consumers in the country. Phylum supports the NDA in assessing the feasibility of a French project that could support this investment plan and enable better exploitation of the sector's potential in the country.
