Relaunch the dairy supply chain in Philippines

Philippines is importing around 99% of their dairy products consumption. The National Dairy Authority (NDA) wants to implement a strategic plan to develop the dairy production in some targeted areas to reduce a part of its deficit. Furthermore, NDA wants to offer a regular source of income for small farmers, and to encourage the development of commercial and competitive farms. This plan aims to provide milk for School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP).

Phylum, with Dr François GARY, was on a mission in the country with a NDA experts team to assess the feasibility of a French project that could support an investment plan and allowing to use the potential development of this supply chain. Considering the importance of the challenge, this development can be based on small farmers as well competitive commercial farms. The aim of this plan is to develop milk and meat production using local feed resources (fodders, by-products) for a sustainable business-model.
