COVID19 – Evolution of the Phylum.Laboratoire LIMS

The need for COVID19 tests via PCR is not weakening and several veterinary laboratories continue to carry out analyzes by subcontracting human biology laboratories.

Phylum mobilized to rapidly develop its Phylum.Laboratoire LIMS for a more easilly and efficiently management of this type of analysis, and to process large volumes of samples.

The latest development has been the full integration of the electronic data exchanges according to the HPRIM Healthcare standard, an exchange format used by most players in medical biology. This standard defines a common language and rules to enable a direct exchange of computer files between laboratory management software: the computer systems from the prescribing laboratory and the one from subcontractor can thus be connected to avoid any manual re-entry of information (patient, analyzes to be performed, results...).

This solution was put into production by the Departmental Council and the Departmental Analysis Laboratory of Morbihan in December 2020. The # COVID19 analysis chain is hence fully computerized with the import of Computerized Analysis Requests from prescribing laboratories, automated recording of the corresponding analysis files by simply scanning the barcode labels affixed to the tubes, direct connection to the PCR machines and sending analysis results in HPRIM format for direct integration into the system. informing the applicant, which improves the deadlines for rendering results.
